EuroTAAC 2004 Challenge Video | |
From this page you can access the video of the EuroTAAC 2004 Authorware Challenge. This video was recorded during the Challenge, and if you took part you will remember me (Steve) and Amy Blankenship were wandering around all evening with video cameras. I put the video together for a University assignment (I'm studying a Master's degree in Multimedia Computing) and it turned out good enough that I have the nerve to show it to the public, but it had to be 'academic'. I used Mark Steiner's EuroTAAC 2000 presentation The Scoop on Storyboarding as the basis for the information in the video. Without that presentation as a foundation, I am not sure what I would have done with the 4 hours of video we shot. The assignment was for 10 minutes of video - I managed to squeeze 4 hours into 12 minutes. If you have never been to EuroTAAC before, or if you have never attended any of the code challenges at TAAC or EuroTAAC, this video gives you an insight into what really happens. You will be amazed to see what teams of people can produce in 2.5 hours (all clients, please look away now!). Clicking above should stream the movie right into Windows Media Player. If that does not happen, right-click the above link and choose "Save Target As" - the file is around 12 Mb. Please accept my apologies for the sound quality in some sections - I tried to enhance it but was unsuccessful. Thanks go to Amy Blankenship for helping with the filming, and to Mark Steiner for making his past presentations available on-line. I would love to re-edit the video to simply document the challenge and capture the atmosphere and incredible team spirit of the event. Right now I am not sure when I might find the time. If anyone wants to attack the task ... please contact me and we can explore options.
