Keith Phillipson ::

Diving for cool tools

This presentation is aimed at beginner to intermediate developers with a little knowledge of Authorware scripting, although it's not absolutely necessary because we'll show you what you need to know on the day.

We'll start by setting a relatively simple task which is to sync some text and graphics to some sound icons, discuss how long this would take to do for a full application, then build a tool to do it for us utilising the infamous dive. We'll also look at different ways to apply this logic to other tasks.

This session is for beginner to intermediate level developers and will result in you walking away with a clever little
tool that can save you hours when creating simple learning applications. So don't forget your laptop and your Geordie to English translation books. Keith will endeavour to pass on is knowledge gleaned from the infamous
Mr Joe Ganci, Chris Swenson, and Dan Clinger at EuroTaac's past.

THIS IS HANDS ON STUFF  --  DON'T FORGET YOUR LAPTOP

Keith has been using Authorware only since version 5 to create learning applications for the British Fire Service. Currently he is working within the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to establish a way forward in teaching the Emergency Services how to deal with Civil Resilience matters.

This is the first time Keith has spoken at an Authorware event although he is no stranger to speaking.
