Julian Tenney::

Cheap 3D - An Isometric World in Authorware

This session looks at implementing an Isometric World in Authorware, and will provide you with one way of avoiding the page turner. We'll take a look at how the world is constructed, how the graphics are created, and the underlying code that provides the rich interactivity.

During the session we'll also look at two artificial intelligence techniques: the A* Pathfinding algorithm, and the use of  Finite State Machines. To implement these ideas you will need no more than a copy of Authorware and a good graphics package such as Photoshop, and the examples will be provided for you to modify for use in your own projects.

Julian Tenney is a Senior Multimedia Specialist for Capital One Bank. He has been working with Authorware since 1999, when he was offered the chance to have fun AND get paid for it.
